If you have you ever felt a mild but irritating burning sensation in your chest after eating dinner it may be you were experiencing heartburn. Not everyone will be affected by the different foods that seem to trigger heartburn for some other people. What we commonly know as heartburn is actually an event that occurs when the muscles that should help keep the stomach contents separated from the esophagus fail to do what they are supposed to do.

This allows the contents of your stomach together with some of the  gastric acid to go the wrong way and move up the esophagus in an uncomfortable process known as reflux.

One other thing is to take time over your meals instead of rushing to get finished.

There are ways to reduce the frequency of experiencing heartburn and a natural solution like eating fewer spicy foods will help but it is not a comprehensive cure for the condition.

Any time you suffer heartburn think about what you have eaten and after a time you may see a pattern developing. Cutting back on the foods that are known to be higher risk for heartburn sufferers should reduce the occurrences of heartburn.
